Being a blogger and putting yourself out there is never easy, and I am SO encouraged to know that somebody out there gets inspired to travel from this blog! - If you could only eat 1 cuisine for the rest of your life what would it be and why?
My biggest guilty pleasure is Italian food! Feeling upset and want some ice cream? WRONG. I want a bowl of spaghetti and garlic bread with a side order of pizza please.
- What was the most exhilarating thing you’ve ever done?
Waterfall jumping in Costa Rica. When my husband and I honeymooned there, we went on a canyoning tour. We thought it was going to be mostly repelling down waterfalls, which is was, but only half of the time. It turned out to be mostly just jumping off of them! It was so scary and so much fun!
- What inspired you to start blogging?
I have been traveled obsessed for a long time and I always write about every trip or place I go to in a journal. So many of my friends and family kept encouraging me to start a blog documenting all our travels, so I just went for it!
- What’s your favorite book you’ve read or movie you’ve seen so far this year and why?
My favorite book ever is Redeeming Love. Its the most amazing story about grace and the perfect example of the love of Jesus. My favorite movie I saw this year was probably Beauty and the Beast! I went to see it 3 times when it came out!
- Would you rather take a First Class flight or the rough scenic route?
I feel like the adventoruous side of me should say the “rough scenic route,” but if I’m being honest I would LOVE to fly first class in most situations!
- What’s your next destination going to be and why?
I am headed to Ecuador in a week to write a piece on the Amazon! We are so excited to explore around Banos and spend some time with La Salva Lodge in the Amazon! My husband and I love South America and want to explore much more of it.
- What advice would you give to starting bloggers?
Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there. When I launched this blog I thought, “there are so many travel blogs out there, why would anyone read mine?” At the end of the day, if your passionate about something, just do it and don’t worry about the fear!
- Name one thing to avoid when traveling.
Overplanning! Sometimes the best moments as a traveler are when things don’t go right or as expected.
- Name one thing to avoid when blogging.
Copying others! I say be original. Sometimes when we see something that works we want to copy it, and I think sticking to what you like is important.
10. If you could have dinner with anyone in the world right now, who’s alive, who would it be?
Romantic wife answer- My husband, who’s probably on the other side of the house right now as I write this…
A blogger answer- Jennifer Lawrence! Because I think she is absolutely hilarious and would make me laugh the entire dinner.
